Historical Note

The Lavochkin La-7 was a Soviet single-engine fighter aircraft used during World War II. Ivan Kozhedub was the first pilot to shoot down a Me 262 jet fighter on the Eastern Front, using a La-7.

Welcome to a special version of the La-7 in Ivan Kozhedub's personal camouflage. A further development of the La-5 family, the La-7 is essentially the same Lavochkin fighter, but with improved aerodynamics, strength, and maneuverability.

Two 20 mm ShVAK cannons with a decent ammo load, high fire rate, and a wide selection of ammo belts make this aircraft a dangerous opponent in dogfights at altitudes up to 3,000 m. Each of the two underwing pylons can carry bombs weighing up to 100 kg, allowing it to destroy lightly armored ground targets.

The La-7 is one of the best low-altitude fighters at Rank VI, rivaling even the Fw 190 and Me 109 in a combination of max speed, climb rate, and maneuverability. This fighter is best used in turning combat at low and medium altitudes.
