[Coming Soon] T-80UK: Tank Commander

The Big and Medium trophies contain a modern Soviet MBT with an electro-optical APS.

Historical note

The T-80UK is a specialized commander’s version of the T-80U main battle tank, retaining its key combat characteristics but receiving additional equipment. Externally, the tank is almost indistinguishable from the base version, except for two antennas and a "Shtora-1" electro-optical APS headlight on the turret.

The main upgrades are concentrated in the communication and control systems: the tank is equipped with backup radio stations, satellite navigation, and closed communication equipment. An autonomous power plant has been installed to keep the electronics running in standby mode. Combat capabilities have been enhanced by the “Agava-2” thermal sight and a remote detonation system for HE shells. The commander’s version retains all the main components of the T-80U: the GTD-1250 turboshaft engine, the 2A46M-1 gun, and “Kontakt-5” ERA protection.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths: high protection, excellent mobility, breech-loading ATGMs, HE-TF, APS.
Weaknesses: small vertical elevation angle, low reverse speed.
Opportunities: one of the best main battle tanks in the game, equally good in any role.
Threats: attacks to the side of the hull.

In battle

The new top-rank main battle tank for Russia not only retains all the advantages of the excellent T-80U, but also expands its opportunities with new HE-TF shells and an optical-electronic APS! The commander's version of the legendary tank will be presented in the game without 3BM46. However, even in this configuration, the T-80UK will be one of the best tanks in the game.

Firstly, it is worth noting the tank's distinctive protection. The combination of powerful homogeneous armor, combined armor with effective fillers, and “Kontakt-5” ERA make the T-80UK one of the most protected vehicles in the game. In addition to passive protection, there is also active one — the “Shtora-1” optical-electronic APS, which diverts guided missiles with semi-active homing systems off course.

High firepower is another strong feature of this tank. A spacious carousel-type automatic loader provides the tank with a high fire rate. The gun has an extensive range of ammunition, including a new high-explosive shell with time fuze, designed to destroy enemies behind cover!

Please note that the 3BM46 shell will be added to the T-80UK tank's ammo load by the end of 2025, when enough Tier XIII vehicles are available in the game.

The T-80UK commander tank is a truly versatile tank. It can easily change tactics right in the heat of battle, instantly switching from one task to another, and performs excellently in both static defense and active combat. The T-80UK has no obvious weaknesses, but it is worth remembering its relatively low reverse speed, traditionally low gun depression and vulnerable hull sides, and the center of the tank has the huge ammo rack.

Premium version of the T-80UK (Rank XIII)

The Premium variant is an extra tank for your hangar! The premium tank maintains the same performance as the standard variant, though it comes in a unique camouflage. With this premium tank you’ll be able to enjoy faster Silver Lion and Research Point gains, and earn some Golden Eagles in your battles.

If you’re lucky enough to unlock both the premium and the standard variants, you will be able to use them both in the same battle!

Order vehicles for Silver Lions after collecting 1,000 blueprints.

Ways to get blueprints:

In Medium Trophy: 700 pcs in the guaranteed reward, or 10 to 100 pcs per attempt.
In Big Trophy: 700 pcs in the guaranteed reward, or 80 to 200 pcs per attempt.
In the in-game store: purchase for Silver Lions a Folder with a number of blueprints (even after the season ends).
