The CV 90 Mk IV infantry fighting vehicle, developed by the Swedish subsidiary BAE Systems Hägglunds for the Norwegian Army, is considered one of the most advanced IFVs in the world. The CV 90 Mk IV retains the classic layout of the series but features a new Scania engine and an upgraded transmission. Its armament includes a 30 mm autocannon and Spike-series guided anti-tank missiles. The vehicle is equipped with a torsion bar suspension with seven road wheels, a track tensioning system, and can use rubber-metal tracks.
Currently, the CV 90 Mk IV is entering service or has been ordered by several nations. In particular, in 2022, the Czech Republic signed a contract to acquire CV90s in seven different variants based on the MkIV.
CV90s are considered a very successful tracked platform both in the world's armies and in our game. We are introducing one of the most advanced versions of the Swedish IFV – it was originally developed for the Norwegian Army, but quickly gained popularity with many foreign customers. This is the CV 90 Mk IV – a fast combat vehicle with a deadly 30 mm cannon and smart missiles!
The already agile CV90 chassis in this modification received a reinforced engine and a refined transmission. Even its increased weight doesn't prevent the CV 90 Mk IV from racing across the battlefield at speeds of nearly 80 km/h and handling rough terrain with ease. Its main armament is a 30 mm Bushmaster with belts for light and armoured targets. With it, you can even hunt main battle tanks by hitting their sides. The real highlight of this modification is the tandem-warhead Spike-LR II ATGMs with automatic target tracking and a total of 6 missiles!
In battle, the CV 90 Mk IV can take on the roles of an active capture point attacker, a tank hunter, or a support vehicle for allied tanks. High mobility and excellent firepower guarantee success with any tactic! However, an IFV is still an IFV – the CV90's armour cannot withstand tank cannon shells. So strike first and strike true!
The armoured cruiser Kurama, the second ship of the Ibuki class, was launched in October 1907. During World War I, her combat career was limited to operations in the South Pacific – the cruiser took part in the search for Admiral von Spee's German squadron and then covered Japanese landings on the Mariana and Caroline Islands. After the war, Kurama was transferred to Japan's Northern Fleet. Her tasks included providing cover for Japanese landing forces during the intervention in Russia.
In 1922, under the Washington Naval Treaty, which limited the tonnage and number of large warships, Kurama was decommissioned and soon scrapped.
Rank III of the Japanese tree is getting the battlecruiser IJN Kurama – a very interesting early ship that relies on high firepower and quite acceptable protection for its class. It will be not only an effective hunter of cruisers and other small ships, but also, if necessary, can hold its own in battle against dreadnoughts. So, a brief introduction.
The battlecruiser IJN Kurama features interesting armament. The main battery consists of four 305 mm guns in two turrets. There are two secondary calibers – eight 203 mm guns in twin turrets and 120 mm guns on the gun deck (seven per side). With a good angle to the enemy, you can fire shells of three different calibers in a single broadside! The IJN Kurama's additional armament consists of 450 mm wet-heater torpedoes.
The protection of the battlecruiser IJN Kurama, although improved, generally remains quite typical for ships of this class. You can successfully fight against cruisers without worrying too much about damage, but battleship guns will pose a great danger at all combat distances. With its powerful arsenal, the Kurama's speed is also closer to that of battleships, although the ship is definitely faster than those same early dreadnoughts.
The experimental Soviet aircraft DB-LK ("Long-Range Bomber – Flying Wing") was developed in the late 1930s. The project featured a fundamentally new aerodynamic configuration – a twin-fuselage bomber built as a flying wing with forward-swept wings. The development faced serious technical difficulties. Trials held from April to June 1940 revealed drawbacks typical of tailless configurations: high takeoff and landing speeds and a failure to meet the claimed speed characteristics.
The unusual aircraft took part in the 1940 air parade, but further work on the project was discontinued. The only DB-LK prototype was destroyed when German forces approached Moscow, as no pilots capable of flying this unique machine to the rear could be found.
A bomber with forward-swept wings – one of the most unusual aircraft in War Thunder Mobile! The DB-LK has two fuselages, each containing an engine, a crew station (pilot and bombardier), a bomb bay, and an elongated turret in the rear. The fuselages are connected by a common wing with a very large area. In the front part of the wing, between the cockpits, there is another turret for firing forward. The unusual shape improves rate of climb and helps keep the bomber from stalling for longer, while at the same time, its somewhat awkward balance and large wing area make turns and rolls difficult.
The DB-LK boasts an excellent bomb load for its rank – high-explosive and armour-piercing bombs ranging from 50 to 1000 kg in various combinations, with a total weight of up to 2000 kg! This is enough for any bombing mission, from small ground targets to attacks on enemy bases.
For its class and rank, the DB-LK has average speed. It can easily escape most biplanes, but monoplane fighters on your tail will cause problems. All of the aircraft's defensive armament consists of rifle-calibre ShKAS machine guns. Therefore, to reliably take down pursuers, you'll have to let them get to close range and keep in mind the limited firing arcs of the turrets.
After completing the event tasks between April 30th and May 7th (ends at 07:00 GMT), you can receive the maximum discount on the Seasonal Offers!
Don’t miss the fantastic chance to buy great premium vehicles at a discount and receive bonus Big Trophy keys from the “Firestorm” season.
