Commanders! 🚩 From October 10th to October 16th, 2025 (ends at 07:00 GMT), as part of a Seasonal Offer, a new set of unique premium vehicles will be available to you. After completing special Seasonal Challenges, you will be able to purchase it with a maximum discount:
In 1979, an experimental prototype of the Marder DF 105 was created in Germany. It combined the chassis of the mass-produced Marder IFV with a French FL-15 oscillating turret, armed with a 105 mm CN-105 series rifled gun. To compensate for the increased weight, the vehicle received a more powerful engine, allowing it to retain high mobility.
Later, based on the DF 105, an improved version, the Marder CLOVIS, was developed, featuring reinforced turret armor and an additional 20 mm automatic coaxial cannon with the main gun. This increased the vehicle's versatility against lightly armored targets. Both prototypes did not enter serial production, giving way to more specialized vehicles.
The CLOVIS is an experimental French light tank based on the successful chassis of the German Marder IFV. It features a great combination of an oscillating turret and an automatic loader with good gun depression angles. Future commanders will also get a 12-round drum-type autoloader, which feeds a new shell into the breech of the 105 mm gun every 5 seconds! The cannon fires two types of shells: HE and HEAT, the latter with 400 mm of penetration. The CLOVIS also has a coaxial 20 mm automatic cannon, very handy for destroying light armored vehicles.
The CLOVIS is built on the chassis of the German Marder IFV, but with a new 720 horsepower engine that provides excellent mobility and high speed.
The CLOVIS can perform several roles on the battlefield. The vehicle will perform excellently both as a daring, fast-firing scout and as a close tank support vehicle, or as a sniper. Its HEAT shells are exceptionally good against enemies with conventional homogeneous steel armor, which will typically be the CLOVIS's main opponents.
However, regardless of the playstyle, one must remember the vehicle's high vulnerability – its armor can only consistently withstand heavy machine gun fire. The CLOVIS can be easily destroyed not only by other tanks and armored vehicles but also by aircraft. Stay in the shadows and fire first if you want success when commanding the CLOVIS!
HMS Tiger, the only ship of her class, became the pinnacle of British battlecruiser development before the First World War. Created as a development of the Queen Mary class ship, she retained eight 343 mm guns but received enhanced armor: 152 mm casemates for auxiliary artillery and a 76 mm underwater belt, inspired by the Japanese Kongō-class cruisers. With a speed of 28 knots and improved seaworthiness, HMS Tiger was considered the most beautiful and technically advanced ship of the Royal Navy.
As part of the 1st Battlecruiser Squadron, HMS Tiger participated in key battles: the Battle of Dogger Bank and the Battle of Jutland, sustaining significant damage from German gunfire in both engagements. After the war, she served as a training ship, and under the terms of the London Naval Treaty of 1930, was decommissioned and sold for scrap in 1931.
The crown jewel of the Royal Navy from the the First World War is HMS Tiger! Devastating weaponry, already mastered by the British on earlier cruisers, is combined here with better protection.
The most interesting thing about this ship is its armament! HMS Tiger has the most powerful main guns in the British fleet – 343 mm Mark V guns with a 45 caliber barrel length. But that's not all! Unlike earlier projects, HMS Tiger is equipped with excellent auxiliary guns – twelve 152 mm guns, six on each broadside. These guns can be used not only against destroyers and frigates but also to successfully attack cruisers in the intervals between main battery salvos.
Like most major warships of its time, HMS Tiger has four submerged torpedo tubes. The anti-aircraft armament is also quite interesting. Initially, HMS Tiger had just a pair of 76 mm anti-aircraft guns; however, in subsequent modernizations, the AA battery was strengthened with four more 102 mm guns. Unfortunately, these guns are not automatic and cannot reliably cover HMS Tiger from air attacks. Nevertheless, compared to other ships of the era, even this kind of anti-aircraft armament can be considered quite respectable.
HMS Tiger's armor can be called transitional from battlecruisers to battleships. The most powerful protection is concentrated in the center of the hull, allowing it to withstand fire from several cruisers for a considerable time. At the same time, the cruiser remains quite agile in battle and can plunge into the thick of the fight, drawing fire for a short time and dealing focused damage to the most dangerous opponents. At its rank, HMS Tiger will perfectly fulfill the role of the main damage-dealer in any battle. Just don't forget about the ship's weak AA defense and try to stick with your teammates whenever possible.
By the end of the Second World War, Japanese carrier-based aircraft faced the qualitative superiority of American fighters. Under these conditions, Mitsubishi designers made final attempts to modernize A6M Zero fighters. The A6M6c modification included a number of improvements: a reinforced wing, self-sealing fuel tanks for increased survivability, enhanced armament consisting of two 20 mm cannons and three 13.2 mm machine guns, and a new Nakajima Sakae 31 engine with a water-methanol injection system for a short-term power boost.
However, tests revealed low reliability of the engine's boost system, and the increased weight worsened its flight characteristics. As a result, only a few examples of the A6M6c were produced by the end of the war – one prototype from Mitsubishi and a small initial batch from Nakajima.
The A6M6c is one of the latest modifications of the legendary Zero, Japan's main fighter. However, little remains of the light, agile, but modestly armed and slow fighter from the beginning of the Second World War. We’ve now got a completely different aircraft with self-sealing tanks, a reinforced wing, a boosted engine, and solid armament. Meet the last defender of the Empire!
One of the important aspects of the Zero series development was work on improving the aircraft's survivability and pilot protection. The A6M6c design features a reinforced wing with self-sealing tanks, an armored seat backrest, and cockpit armor glass. The fighter holds up well to damage, is much less prone to fires, and is quite suitable for desperate "last chance" head-on attacks.
Improved armament is another trump card of the late Zero. Three heavy machine guns, two 20 mm automatic cannons, and a very large ammunition capacity! The A6M6c can fire long bursts, and the weight of its fire per second is sufficient to destroy any opponent up to heavy bombers. In addition to the forward-firing armament, there is also some bombs and rockets; either a choice of two 60 kg bombs, one 250 kg bomb, ten small rockets, or a pair of large unguided rockets!
The increased weight and reinforced wing deprive the A6M6c of the maneuverability of early Zeros. However, a more powerful engine with a long boost time improved the aircraft's speed performance, increasing its rate of climb. The A6M6c is better suited to energy-based combat, which was more typical of European and American fighters. It may come as a surprise, but this Zero is much better adapted for “boom-and-zoom” tactics than for low-altitude dogfighting.
After completing the event tasks between October 10th and October 16th (ends at 07:00 GMT), you can receive the maximum discount on the Seasonal Offers!
