The night is dark and full of the unknown.
A crimson gloom enveloped the hangars, their silhouettes fading into the ominous twilight. The air turned still—dense and electric. In the distance, blood-curdling laughter echoed and scattered across the darkening sky.
Commanders, be ready for anything – the mystical week is coming to War Thunder Mobile!
🎃 From October 28th to 09:00 (GMT) on November 4th, take part in the themed event and get a unique holiday vehicle in a spooky camouflage.
Introducing “Witch Contest,” an exclusive new air racing mode where you take the controls of the legendary Po-2 and compete against other pilots in a thrilling test of speed and skill.

Tasks are available from the first day of the event. By completing a task with a low difficulty level, you will receive the next task with a higher difficulty level.

In total, during the event, you can receive event bonds:
All points earned in the Witch Contest will go toward filling the festive Event Pass progress bar. You can collect enough bonds to purchase all the anniversary rewards you want, even if you don't win a single match or complete all the event tasks.
You can purchase missing bonds with Platinum Wolves by clicking on the “plus” sign next to the event currency icon in the store.

Earn Bonds and Gold by completing Event Pass steps. Purchasing a VIP Event Pass grants additional Bonds and extra rewards.

The VIP Pass instantly unlocks the stylish nickframe decorator “Bats,” the charming avatar “Witch’s Cat,” and the mystical all-vehicle decal “Reflection of the Night.” It also automatically completes all 7 steps of the Event Pass.
At step 16 of the free Event Pass, you’ll unlock the Po-2 aircraft – the star of the races.
The Soviet Po-2 (U-2) biplane, developed in 1927 under the direction of N.N. Polikarpov, was originally designed to train future pilots in aeroclubs. Although it is the slowest biplane in the game and lacks forward-firing armament or armor, it offers exceptional maneuverability, carries a 7.62 mm ShKAS machine gun, and can be equipped with bombs.

This game mode was inspired by the extraordinary story of the 46th Guards Night Bomber Aviation Regiment, whose entire personnel – from pilots and navigators to mechanics – were women. It was the enemy who gave them the name that entered history: the “Night Witches”.
While others fought in powerful Il-2s or fast Yak aircraft, the Witches carried out their missions in outdated yet reliable U-2 (Po-2) biplanes.
Their standard tactic was a single-aircraft night raid. Approaching the target at about 1,000 meters, the pilot would cut the engine and glide silently. The plane would vanish into the darkness, nearly soundless, with the only warning of a falling bomb being the faint whistle of air through the wing bracing wires. In one night, a crew could fly 10 to 15 sorties, creating the illusion of a relentless, unseen threat – as if a witch were circling in the night sky on her broomstick.

The legend of the Night Witches was so powerful that the Swedish heavy metal band Sabaton, known for its songs about military history, dedicated the track “Night Witches” to them on the album Heroes. The song’s lyrics and driving rhythm vividly convey the tension of the night raids, the bravery of the female pilots, and the fear their missions inspired.
